The Elms
Primary School
VISION:
In History at The Elms, we aim for children to be inspired by actions and events from the past, understand how these different historical time-frames relate to each other, and the impact and legacy of the lives of people from these eras on their own existence today.
FROM THE CHILDREN:
"I loved learning about the Roman Army, especially about the formations they used to protect themselves in battle." Scarlett, Year 4
"I loved learning about the Mayan religion and how they sacrificed people to their gods. They also invented chocolate." Rose, Year 5
"In the stone age people did not have fridges, so they built wooden structures on legs and stored the food in them. The wind would blow underneath the structure and keep the food cold." Jack, Year 3
"I like History, it is cool. " Emma, Year 1
