A huge thank you to Tesco, who donated £500 to the school today! They have been fundraising money through their reading programme and thankfully wanted to give us a Christmas treat. They also provided our staff with some chocolates. Watch this space to see how we spend the money!

This festive season, we're collecting donations to help bring a little extra sparkle to families in our school community. Please drop items to the school office.

It's Odd Socks Day at The Elms! Today our children proudly wore their brightest, boldest, and most mismatched socks to celebrate Odd Socks Day and mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day is a fun reminder that we are all unique, and our differences should be celebrated. It's a simple way for children to express themselves while sharing an important message of kindness, respect and standing up for one another. Thank you to everyone who joined in today and helped us kick off Anti-Bullying Week with colour, confidence and positivity! #OddSocksDay #AntiBullyingWeek #BeKind #TheElmsSchool

First Helping Hands Event a Success Last week, we held our first Helping Hands event. It was a fantastic opportunity for families to connect with a range of professionals offering support and guidance. We were joined by representatives from CAMHS, SENDIAS, BeFree Young Carers, Citizens Advice, and many more, all sharing valuable information and resources with our school community. We're proud to say this will become a twice-yearly event, so keep an eye out for the next one! A huge thank you to our Inclusion Team, and especially to Mrs Murray, our Home School Link Worker, for organising such a meaningful and well-attended event.

Stay and Play Phonics in Reception This week, we welcomed Reception parents and carers into school for our Stay and Play Phonics sessions. These sessions gave families a chance to see how we teach phonics through small group work and interactive activities. It was a wonderful opportunity for parents to join in with their children's learning, gain insight into our phonics approach, and pick up practical ideas to support reading at home. Thank you to everyone who attended! We loved having you in the classroom!

Census Day Lunch – Thursday 2nd October This Thursday is Census Day, and every school dinner really counts! When children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have a school meal on Census Day, it helps our school secure the funding we need to keep providing the very best for all our pupils. Please support us by encouraging your child to have a school dinner on Thursday. We will be having Cheese and Tomato Pizza with coleslaw and wedges followed by a chocolate orange cookie. Reception 2026 starter tours We would love to welcome you to The Elms to look around the school and see what our wonderful reception looks like. Tours will be available on the following dates/times: Individual Tours with the Head of School from 9AM-12PM (20 minute tour) Tuesday 14th October 2025 Thursday 13th November 2025 Tuesday 18th November 2025 Tuesday 25th November 2025 Tuesday 02nd December 2025 Group Tours with the Head of School from 1:30PM-2PM (This is for individuals who may prefer a group setting - we can book up to 3 families to look around together for a 30 minute tour) Tuesday 14th October 2025 Tuesday 18th November 2025 Tuesday 25th November 2025 Individual Tours with the Head of School from 10AM-12PM (20 minute tour) Wednesday 19th November 2025 Monday 24th November 2025 Monday 01st December 2025 Please book via office@tep.cambrianlt.org or call the office on 01367 240232.
